Noodles is a brilliant little mouse with an insatiable appetite for knowledge.  He loves to read and has read more books than most grown-ups.  He is a walking encyclopedia of facts and lore.  He seemingly knows something about every subject, from the medicinal value of herbs to astronomy.  The kids often turn to him when they want to know about something they come across.  Just as often, Noodles annoys his friends with his constant tidbits of information and advice.  Sometimes, he knows too much, and will confuse himself with contradictory information.

Proud Nerd

Noodles is the smallest Whisper Kid.  His thick eyeglasses hugely magnify his eyes.  His long tail seems to have a personality of its own, winding up around his ears, or scratching his head in thought.  Noodles isn’t confident when it comes to doing physical things such as outdoor athletic games.  He has decided to be proudly nerdish.  He is Woody Allenish in his appearance, and has an anxiety-ridden, pessimistic, intellectual demeanor.  A hypochondriac, if there is the slightest chill in the air, he wears a long, woolen scarf.

Navigator

Noodles is the navigator of the group.  He carries a compass and wears a sundial watch.  In his knapsack he also keeps a magnifying lens, a mirror, pencils, and a scientific journal for taking notes on his discoveries of new plants, animals, and monsters.  Much of this information he writes in a secret code.

Scholar

Noodles strikes up a friendship with Old Om, who encourages him to find the missing Keys.  Old Om also believes Noodle’s love of scholarship will aid in piecing together the wisdom of the lost Chronicle Scrolls.

“Let’s think this through”

Noodles is practical and slow to act when he contemplates a problem.  He believes logic has all the answers.  He is so focused on the moment that he doesn’t always see the big picture.  Noodles has a lot of knowledge but not  a lot of wisdom.

Noodles knows the central mythology of the Gardens, but he doesn’t trust in the Whispers.  For him, the Whispers act as a special intuitive knowledge rising up from his unconsciousness and enabling him to solve complex problems.  Because of his scientific knowledge of nature, Noodles risks becoming like TenToes in wanting to control nature.  Of all the kids, he is most drawn to the dark side of the Whispers.
