Treetops possesses an actor’s flair for the dramatic. He really believes that “all the world’s a stage,” and he lives each day as a constant performance. He is charming, witty, and sometimes cynical. Treetops is hilarious when parodying his friends and famous people. Depending on the situation, Treetops is apt to quote Shakespeare, philosophers, literature, or old movie lines. Adopting one persona after another, Treetops can be as dashing as Errol Flynn, as comical as Groucho Marx, or as tough as James Cagney. He has been classically trained in music, song, dance and fencing. He is naturally athletic, and can leap and jump as gracefully as a ballet dancer or hop from limb to limb with gymnastic ease.
Beneath all the bravado, though, he is a shy young fellow overcompensating for his insecurities. In the face of adversity, Treetops actually quakes in his boots, but will hide his fears by “acting” confident and heroic. Treetops is so busy being someone else that he has yet to discover who he really is. He desperately wants applause and recognition from his friends, and he thinks the only way he can get it is by clowning around. He can be very entertaining, but sometimes he can be quite melodramatic.
Being an actor, there’s no telling what manner of costume Treetops will wear. His favorite garb is a cloak, a floppy hat, and cape, a combination not complete without his trusty wooden prop sword. Treetops carries a satchel with an unlimited storage capacity. Out of this satchel, Treetops can pull out mountain climbing gear such as ropes, pitons, and a hammer. The satchel also contains scuba diving equipment, a hammock, framed paintings, a bull horn, and many costumes and hats for any occasion.
Treetops lives in such an active fantasy world that he thinks the Whispers are just something he is imagining. He may hear the whispers and try to act on them, but isn’t convinced that he isn’t just bluffing himself. Sometimes it is hard to know if he is hearing the Whispers or just acting.
Treetops comes from a theatrical squirrel family. His grandfather was a famous stage actor, Sir Rice Wispy who founded the Olde Wisteria Outdoor Theater in Whispering Gardens.
Underneath it all, Treetops is a shy young fellow overcompensating for his insecurities. In the face of adversity, Treetops actually quakes in his boots, but will hide his fears by "acting" confident and heroic.
